Benjamin André’s determination to join Paris FC has escalated tensions with Lille OSC, as the 33-year-old midfielder rejected a contract extension and refused to travel with the squad for their friendly match against Como on Friday.
According to Marc meeroaParis FC submitted a second bid of €3m in recent days, but LOSC have yet to respond. André has reportedly agreed personal terms on a three-year deal with the Ligue 1 side and has made clear to club president Olivier Létang his desire to make the switch to the capital.
LOSC, meanwhile, risk seeing a key dressing room figure depart on bad terms. André captained the team last season and made 45 appearances across all competitions, including starring in the UEFA Champions League. He has just one year left on his contract and could now face disciplinary action from the northern club after his decision to stay behind.
