Whatsapp update: WhatsApp is testing a new feature for Android users, so that they will now be able to chat with Meta AI. According to a feature tracker report, this new Artificial Intelligence (AI) feature is being made available for select beta testers. Users can either start voice chat directly or switch into voice mode while staying in a chatbot interface.

What will be found in voice mode?

According to WABETAINFO report, this new feature has been seen in Android beta version 2.25.21.21 of Whatsapp. Users will get the option to start a voice chat with Meta AI by tapping on the Waveform icon (wavy symbol) in the chat interface.

Voice preferred settings: By going to settings, users can go to automatic voice mode as soon as the users open the chat through ‘Voice Preferences’ option. This option is closed by default and applies only to the chat tab.

Change in Call Tab: If a user is in a call tab, the meta AI’s icon will automatically turn into a wave and voice chat will start by default.

New features and flexibility

Voice mode has several customization options. Some suggested topics will be shown at the center of the chat interface so that users can easily start the conversation. In addition, a collapse icon will also be up to the left, so that the user can open another app by taking voice chat into the background.

How to finish voice chat?

Users can end the voice chat by pressing the X button.

The chat can also be stopped by getting out of the chat interface.

If users start typing in the text field, the chat will automatically turn into text mode.

If the user is not clear whether the voice chat is still going on or not, they can confirm this from the notification alert or Android’s microphone indicator.
