Encounter in Gumla: Three militant piles of Jharkhand Jan Mukti Morcha!

Three militants of the banned militant organization Jharkhand Jan Mukti Morcha (JJMP) were killed in a major encounter on Saturday morning in Ghaghra police station area of Gumla district of Jharkhand. The encounter took place in the Lawadag forest, where a joint team of police and Jharkhand Jaguar conducted a search operation on the basis of secret information.

Gumla Superintendent of Police Harish bin Zaman said that he had received information that JJMP militants were planning a major violent incident. After this, security forces started a search operation in the forest. On seeing the security forces, the militants started firing, responding which the soldiers killed three militants.

After the encounter, an AK-47 rifle, two INSAS rifles and a large amount of weapons and ammunition have been recovered from the spot. However, some militants managed to escape from the spot by taking advantage of the darkness and forest. The intensive search operation is still going on in search of them.

Earlier, on 15 July, there was an encounter with CPI (Maoist) militants in Gomia police station area of Bokaro district, in which two Naxalites including five lakh Naxalite Kunwar Manjhi were killed. However, a soldier of Cobra 209 battalion was also martyred in this action.

Since the beginning of the year, 22 Naxalites have been killed, while 115 weapons, 8591 bullets, 176.5 kg explosives, Rs 4.51 lakh (recovered as levy) and 179 IEDs have been recovered or deactivated.
