Big news for WhatsApp users. Soon, the way to change profile photo (DP) is going to change completely. WhatsApp is preparing to bring a new feature, through which users will be able to import their profile photo directly from Instagram or Facebook.
According to the report of WABetaInfo, this new feature has been seen in WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.25.21.23 and some beta users have started getting its update. It will be rolled out for more users in the coming weeks.
How was DP set till now?
Till now, to set DP on WhatsApp, users had to select a photo from the gallery, click it with the camera, add an avatar or use an AI generated image. If someone wanted to put their Facebook or Instagram photo, they had to first take a screenshot or download the photo - which also deteriorated the quality of the photo.
What is the new sync feature?
Now WhatsApp's new "sync feature" will eliminate this problem. When users go to the Edit option to change their profile photo on WhatsApp, they will see a new option to import photos from Instagram and Facebook. The same photo will be put directly on WhatsApp in just one click.
How to get this feature?
To take advantage of this feature, users will have to link their WhatsApp account to Meta's Accounts Center. Meta had given the facility to add WhatsApp to the Accounts Center earlier this year.
Meta's integration is increasing
Meta has already introduced several integration features between Facebook and Instagram. Now Instagram status can be shared directly on WhatsApp and business accounts can also add a WhatsApp button to their Insta profile, so that customers can chat directly.
Why is this feature special?
This new feature will prove to be very beneficial for those users who want to keep the same profile picture on all three meta platforms (Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp). This will not only save time, but the quality of the photo will also remain better.
Now it remains to be seen when this update is rolled out for all users. But it is certain that the experience of changing profile photo on WhatsApp is now going to be even smarter and easier.
