The latest round of Fortnite downtime is set to usher in the final wave of content for the game's now-iconic Super Season.
Fortnite's finales are about to kick off. It may sound grandiose, but oddly enough, it feels appropriate. The Fortnite Super Season is nearing its end, and as the countdown to the OG Fortnite live event concluded, it appeared that Epic Games was poised to make another thrilling announcement with the unveiling of the Super Showdown live event, destined to occur in Battle Royale and introduce a spectacular new Kaiju battle to players.
However, before the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 start date arrives, there's one more update to navigate – one that will hopefully bring a wealth of new content to bid farewell to the Super Season in style, ideally without the prolonged update 36.20 downtime that prompted an official statement from Epic Games.
So, the question arises – is Fortnite down? Here's what you need to know.

Is Fortnite down? The Fortnite downtime is scheduled to commence at 1am PDT / 4am EDT / 9am BST on Tuesday, July 29. We first mentioned this date when we anticipated the next Fortnite update, which has now been confirmed in a tweet from
The game will disable matchmaking half an hour prior to this time, ensuring that players can complete their games before the system goes into downtime.
The maintenance period is anticipated to run for two to three hours based on previous downtimes (excluding the unusually lengthy 36.20 update), suggesting players can expect servers to return by 4am PDT / 7am EDT / 12pm BST at the very latest.
Fortnite early patch notes for update 36.30The most reliable way to discover exactly what fresh content will arrive in the game is by checking the Fortnite community Trello board, where Epic Games developers keep players informed about anticipated changes launching in each update.
Here's everything currently marked as "Fixed in Next Game Update" on the Trello board:.
Battle Royale / Reload / OG- Switching from KBM to controller might cause Superman’s power icons to disappear or display incorrectly – When playing as Superman (Superman’s Call Mythic Item) and switching input from keyboard+mouse to controller, players may notice their power icons may appear in incorrect order or disappear entirely. Temprorary workaround: Using Superman’s abilities while airborne should correct the icon inconsistency.
- Hunter’s abilities have no effect on Spires – When fighting a Spire as the Hunter, the following abilities have no impact: Bull’s-Eye only marks the main Spire but not the small Spires attached to it; Bull’s-Eye Blade deals no damage to small Spires.
- Rift Shards may cause autofire to stop working properly (mobile) – Autofire may occasionally stop working on Mobile when using the Rift Ripper’s Rift Shards ability. Temporary workaround: Aim away from the enemy (or at another enemy), then back at the enemy to resume autofire.
- Banner may not update to the latest one upon entering or leaving a Mission – Players may notice that their Banner icon doesn’t update to the one they selected after transitioning into our out of a Mission.
That covers all content scheduled to arrive with the forthcoming 36.30 update. It's encouraging news that fixes are on their way, and players can anticipate some exciting teasers emerging over the coming weeks regarding what lies ahead for the game.
If speculation about a major invasion proves accurate, you might want to look away if you're squeamish about creepy-crawlies.
