The victim Santosh Yadav, who appears to be based in Dublin for work, said this was not an isolated incident, pointing to a worrying rise in racist attacks across the city.

Dublin: An Indian-origin man in Dublin has alleged he was brutally assaulted by a group of teenagers in what he described as a racist attack. Santosh Yadav, who shared the details of the incident on LinkedIn, said the assault occurred near his apartment and left him with a fractured cheekbone and multiple injuries. The attackers allegedly struck him from behind without warning.

In his post, Yadav said the group of six teenagers snatched his glasses and repeatedly hit him on his head, face, chest, neck and limbs. “After having dinner, I was walking near my apartment when a group of six teenagers attacked me from behind. They snatched my glasses, breaking them, and then beat me relentlessly... leaving me bleeding on the pavement,” he wrote.

He was later taken to Blanchardstown Hospital, where doctors confirmed that his cheekbone had been fractured and referred him for specialist treatment.

Victim Alleges Government's Inaction Against Racism

Yadav, who appears to be based in Dublin for work, said this was not an isolated incident, pointing to a worrying rise in racist attacks across the city. “This is not an isolated incident. Racist attacks on Indian men and other minorities are surging across Dublin, on buses, in housing estates, and on public streets,” he wrote.

He also expressed frustration over the alleged silence from authorities. “Yet, the government is silent. There is no action being taken against these perpetrators. They run free and are emboldened to attack again. We deserve to feel safe. We deserve to walk on the streets without fear,” he said.

Similar Racist-Attack In Australia

Just days earlier, another Indian-origin man was left critically injured in Australia after a group of teenagers attacked him with a machete in Melbourne’s Altona Meadows.

Saurabh Anand, 33, was walking home from a pharmacy when he was ambushed. Surgeons at Royal Melbourne Hospital were initially unsure if they could save his left hand, but after hours of surgery, it was successfully reattached.
