The fast of Janmashtami is on Saturday, 16 August. In the Dwapar Yuga, Lord Krishna was born in Mathura on the Ashtami Tithi of the Krishna Paksha of the Bhadrapad month. That day, the moon was in Taurus, and the day was Wednesday. Every year on the occasion of Janmashtami, people observe fast and celebrate the birth anniversary of Laddu Gopal at midnight and complete the fast by breaking the fast. According to the scriptures, the fast is broken after sunrise the next day. The fast of Janmashtami is observed regularly; in this, one can use fruits, milk, curd, water, but eating food is prohibited. But what will happen if someone eats food by mistake, or the fast of Janmashtami is broken by mistake? In this situation, will he get the fruits of the Janmashtami fast or not? Let us know what the solution is.

What should be done if the Janmashtami fast is broken?

In Hinduism, any fast is valid from sunrise to sunrise. But this rule does not apply in some fasts. The Janmashtami fast is observed from sunrise to sunrise. In the meantime, if the fasting person accidentally eats food and the fast is broken, then he repents, and he feels sad that his fast is broken. The wish for which he had kept the fast, has been broken.

Pray for forgiveness from Lord Krishna.

In this situation, the fasting person should pray for forgiveness from Lord Krishna, i.e., Shri Hari Vishnu. At that time, purify yourself and sit on a seat in front of Lord Krishna. Pray for forgiveness from him for breaking the Janmashtami fast.

Remember Lord Krishna and read this mantra-

1. Mantraheen Kriyaheen Bhaktiheen Janardan. Yatpujitam Maya Deva Paripoorna Tadastu Me॥

2. Om Shri Vishnuve Namah Kshama Yachana Samarpayami॥

3. Chant the Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay mantra at least 5 or 11 times with a Tulsi rosary.

After praying for forgiveness and chanting the mantra, bow to Lord Krishna. Request him, O Lord! By mistake, the fast of Janmashtami has been broken. Please have mercy on me and shower your blessings. Forgive me for this mistake.

Now, if you want, you can continue the Janmashtami fast. Celebrate the birth anniversary of Laddu Gopal with pomp at night. Bathe Lord Krishna with Panchamrit. Worship him according to the rituals. Offer Tulsi, butter, sugar candy, panjiri, and perform aarti. After that distribute prasad to people. Take fruits as prasad yourself.

On the next day of Janmashtami, at sunrise, take a bath and do puja. Go to Vishnu temple and donate yellow clothes, banana, jaggery, gram, sugar candy, gram flour laddu etc. Once again apologize for breaking the Janmashtami fast. After that pray to Lord Krishna for fulfillment of your wishes. God forgives his devotees. He sees the feelings of the devotees. If you apologize with a true heart and complete the fast, then your wish can be fulfilled.

This remedy is for those people whose Janmashtami fast was broken by mistake or inadvertently. They had no intention of doing so.
