Kelsey Mitchell erupted after halftime to deliver a career-high 38 points, powering the visiting Indiana Fever to a stunning 99-93 overtime win over the Connecticut Sun on Sunday.

Mitchell scored 34 of her points after halftime, going 11 of 22 from the field, 5 of 8 from deep and 11 of 12 at the line. She poured in Indiana’s first 10 points of overtime before Lexie Hull buried a corner three with 44.9 seconds left to secure the victory.

Odyssey Sims chipped in 19 points and seven assists, while Natasha Howard netted 18. Reigning Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston added 14 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks.

The Fever (19-16) managed the comeback despite playing their 13th straight game without star guard Caitlin Clark, sidelined with a groin injury.

Marina Mabrey paced Connecticut (6-27) with 27 points and five assists. Tina Charles added 21, Saniya Rivers contributed 15 points and five blocks off the bench, and Aneesha Morris posted a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double.

The Sun dominated early, ripping off a 12-0 first-quarter run and holding Indiana scoreless for more than four minutes to seize a 24-11 lead. Mabrey’s late three pushed the margin to 20, and Connecticut led 48-29 at halftime. Matters worsened for Indiana as starter Sophie Cunningham exited with a knee injury.

But the Fever mounted a furious rally. Mitchell scored 14 in the third to trim the deficit to eight before Leila Lacan’s 30-foot buzzer-beater gave the Sun a 63-52 edge entering the fourth.

Boston’s 16-foot jumper tied the game late in regulation, and after Mabrey missed a runner, Indiana capitalized in the extra period behind Mitchell’s brilliance.
