Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has reportedly suffered a knee injury and is set to be sidelined for an unspecified period of time.
According to the New York Times, Havertz was not part of the club’s open training session on Wednesday, and his injury is in the early stages of prognosis.
Havertz played as Arsenal’s regular centre-forward last season but was replaced in their Premier League opener by new signing Viktor Gyokeres, who joined the club for £55m this summer from Sporting CP.
However, he came off the bench against Manchester United for 30 minutes, as his side opened the new League with a 1-0 win.
The 26-year-old German joined Arsenal from Chelsea in the summer of 2023 and has played 88 times for the Gunners, scoring 28 times. Arsenal is yet to confirm the player’s date of return.
Mikel Arteta’s side, which finished second in the league last season, has looked desperate to find a consistent goalscoring option and is reportedly looking for more signings after Gyokeres to reinforce its attack.
