Sri Lanka have named a 16-man ODI team for the Zimbabwe tour. The white-ball tour, featuring a couple of ODIs and three T20Is, is to get under way on August 29.
Star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been left out of the squad, having already missed the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in July due to a hamstring injury.
Hasaranga had been the island nation's starman in the earlier ODIs against Bangladesh, performing all-round acts in all three matches (22 & 4/10, 13 & 3/60 and 18* and 2/35).
Top-order batter Nuwanidu Fernando, who last featured in an ODI in November 2024, makes his return to the Sri Lankan side, while Charith Asalanka has been named captain.

All five white-ball games (two ODIs and three T20Is) will be staged at the Harare Sports Club. Sri Lanka's next duty after their tour of Zimbabwe will be the Asia Cup 2025 where they are placed in Group B alongside Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Hong Kong.
Sri Lanka recently visited the Chevrons for a limited-overs tour in November 2008, when they whitewashed their hosts in the series of five one-day internationals, with Kumar Sangakkara (182 runs from five games), Ajantha Mendis (15 wickets from five games) and Muttiah Muralidaran (11 wickets from four games) shining for the visiting team.
