Kajol’s much awaited horror debut, mother, a mythical thriller, after releasing in theaters, is ready to stream on Netflix since August 22, 2025. Directed by Vishal Furia and produced by Ajay Devgan, Jyoti Deshpande and Kumar Mangat Pathak under Jio Studios and Devgan Films, the film stars Kajol Ambika, along with Ronit Roy, Indranil Sengupta and Kherin Sharma. Netflix India announced the premiere on Instagram, saying, “When the protector is a mother, every eater will be defeated.”

Established in the fictional village of Chandrapur, is the story of Maa Ambika and her daughter Shweta, who faces a demonic curse associated with the mythology of Goddess Kali and Raktabij. The screenplay written by Saivin Quadras, editing by Sandeep Francis and composed by Harsh Upadhyay, Rocky Khanna and Shiv Malhotra, threads the horror with maternal power. The trailer, which showed the incident of a dreadful road trip, got a lot of discussion online.
