New Delhi. After Mamta Banerjee’s TMC, now the Samajwadi Party (SP) has also boycotted the JPC formed on the bill removing PM, CM and ministers from the post. SP President Akhilesh Yadav while boycotting JPC said that this is a bill colliding with the federal structure of India. Akhilesh Yadav said that the idea of the bill is wrong. The SP president said that those who (Amit Shah) have introduced this bill, have said many times that false cases were imposed on them. Akhilesh gave an example of Azam Khan, Ramakant Yadav and Irfan Solanki being sent to jail and said that if anyone can file a fake case on someone, then what is the meaning of this bill.
Earlier on Saturday, TMC described the JPC on the bill to dismiss the PM, CM and ministers from the post. TMC Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien had said that after 2014 the role of JPC became quite hollow. The government has started using JPC political. The TMC MP had said that the amendments of the opposition in JPC are rejected. The debate in JPC is just a formality. After the Boycott of JPC by TMC and SP, everyone is now watching the Congress’ stance. Because the Congress was earlier seen in favor of this bill, but TMC and SP have put pressure on the Congress to prove the opposition unity by supporting them.
The Modi government introduced the bill in the Lok Sabha on the last day of the monsoon session. There is a arrangement in this bill that if PM, CM and ministers are arrested in a crime of 5 years or more and they do not get bail for 30 days, then on the 31st day, they themselves will be considered removed from the post. PM Narendra Modi had said in a public meeting in Gayaji, Bihar that if the smallest government employee is in custody for 50 hours, then he is suspended, then why should there not be equal behavior with the leaders? The Modi government has brought this bill due to this, because Arvind Kejriwal, who was the CM of Delhi while in jail, did not resign from the post. He left the post after being the head of Delhi government for a long time.
