Patna. The Bihar government has taken a big relief and honor decision to the farmer advisors of the state. Their monthly honorarium amount has been increased from ₹ 13,000 to ₹ 21,000 from the financial year 2025-26. This increase will be directly ₹ 8,000 per month, and this decision will be considered effective from 1 April 2025. That is, advisors will also get arrears of this period.
Let us tell you that this announcement of the government will benefit 7,047 farmer advisors of the state. For this, the withdrawal of more than ₹ 67.87 crore and approval of expenditure has been given by the Department of Agriculture. This will improve their economic condition.
The role of farmer advisors got the honor
The state government has taken this decision because farmers advisors act as an important link in putting agricultural schemes on the ground. These advisors stay at the panchayat level and provide technical information, information about schemes and crops to crops.
In view of their hard work and continuous contribution, the government has not only increased their honorarium, but has increased the daily work time from 6 hours to 7 hours. This will not only increase their responsibilities, but will also expand the scope of their services.
Direct connection with farmers
Farmers advisors are the final link in the agricultural system of the state, which have direct contact with the farmers. Whether it is the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Samman Yojana, Soil Health Card Distribution, or Crop Insurance Scheme, Farmers Advisors are engaged in spreading information and benefits of every scheme directly to the farmers. This increased honorarium will not only give them financial relief, but it also recognizes the importance of their work.
Clear message from the government
With this decision to increase the honorarium, the government has tried to convey the message that it is aware of the role of agricultural personnel working at the lower level and wants to give a fair price for their hard work. This step is a positive sign towards strengthening the agriculture sector in the state and the welfare of farmer welfare.
