Kejriwal's Strong Critique of Congress

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Chief Minister of Delhi, launched a fierce attack on Congress on Thursday, alleging that the party has colluded with the BJP in corruption cases. While addressing a gathering of AAP legislators and municipal councillors in Delhi, Kejriwal questioned why no member of the Gandhi family has faced imprisonment in the National Herald case. He stated, 'We have been jailed on false charges, yet no action has been taken against the Gandhi family.'

Kejriwal asserted that while some claim that leaders like Mayawati and Owaisi have made compromises, it is Congress that has made the most significant compromises. He pointed out that in Goa, people are questioning why none of Congress's leaders have been jailed while five of AAP's top leaders are incarcerated. He noted that cases like the 2G scam and the coal scam have been dismissed, leading to speculation about a possible alliance between the BJP and Congress.

He further alleged that major corruption cases, including the 2G and coal scams, have been quietly dismissed. 'Something is very wrong here. We are not here to compromise or form alliances; we are here to bring about change for the country,' he emphasized. Kejriwal also criticized the current government's handling of Delhi, claiming that the situation has deteriorated over the past six months.

Referring to AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj, Kejriwal mentioned that a raid was conducted at his residence, and parts of his statement were erased after he was questioned late in the evening. He remarked, 'When he refused to sign, they threatened to arrest him, but he was prepared for any situation.' He concluded by stating that while opponents used to be eliminated in the past, today's politics sees them being imprisoned instead.
