New Voices Join the Harry Potter Audio Experience
Mumbai: Pottermore Publishing has revealed additional cast members for the audio edition of Harry Potter, as announced on Tuesday. This exciting update comes from the global digital publisher of the beloved series.
In collaboration with Audible, the details of the much-anticipated Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions have been unveiled. Mark Addy, recognized for his role in Game of Thrones, will lend his voice to Rubeus Hagrid, while Daniel Mays, known for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Line of Duty, will portray Dobby.
Alex Hassell, who has appeared in The Boys and Rivals, will take on the role of Lucius Malfoy. Additionally, social media influencers Sara and Avni Deshmukh, collectively known as Iconicakes, will voice the Patil Twins.
Sara Deshmukh expressed her excitement, stating, “Bringing Padma Patil to life in the Harry Potter audio editions on Audible is a true honor. The collaborative atmosphere in the studio made the experience incredibly fulfilling, as we worked together to create this magical soundscape. I hope listeners feel as enchanted by these unabridged editions as we did during recording.”
Avni added, “It has been a remarkable privilege to voice Parvati Patil in the Harry Potter audio series. Her character's intelligence, spirit, and bravery made it a joy to portray.”
She further shared, “Audiobooks have always inspired my creative endeavors, and I hope these new editions provide fans with a fresh and immersive way to engage with the wizarding world!”
This newly announced cast joins previously revealed talents, including Golden Globe winner Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore, Emmy and BAFTA winner Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort, and Academy Award winner Riz Ahmed as Professor Snape.
The production will also feature Cush Jumbo OBE as the narrator and Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall. Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, and Arabella Stanton will voice Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, respectively, in the initial three audiobooks, with Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis taking over from the fourth audiobook onward.
More cast announcements are expected this autumn.
These new audio productions of J.K. Rowling's original seven stories will be available on Audible, offering an immersive experience with high-quality sound in Dolby Atmos. The casting process concluded in early 2025, and production is nearing completion, having logged over 2,000 recording hours to create these complete, unabridged editions.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is set to launch on November 4, 2025, with subsequent releases scheduled monthly, culminating with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on May 12, 2026.
