Inauguration of the Scholarship Scheme
During a ceremony at his official residence in Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated, "Educating daughters uplifts entire generations." He inaugurated the Azim Premji Scholarship Scheme, highlighting the government's dedication to providing higher education opportunities for girls.
The Chief Minister praised the Azim Premji Foundation, expressing that this initiative will enable thousands of young women to pursue their aspirations. He pointed out that over the past 25 years, Chhattisgarh has experienced comprehensive development, with women and girls playing a crucial role in enhancing the state's reputation. "This program aims to ensure that financial barriers do not hinder daughters from continuing their education, thereby increasing the enrollment of girls in higher education," he remarked.
Alignment with National Initiatives
CM Sai further noted that the scholarship scheme is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative. It is designed to assist students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds attending government schools, allowing them to pursue higher education without interruptions.
"Educating daughters not only benefits two families but also enlightens entire generations," CM Sai emphasized, urging that information about the scholarship be widely shared across all colleges in the state.
