Inspection of Railway Stations in Rajasthan
On Thursday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw conducted an inspection of various ongoing development projects at Jaipur Junction, Gandhinagar, and Khatipura railway stations in Rajasthan. Vaishnaw arrived at Khatipura station from Delhi, where he examined the model of the coach maintenance unit being developed.
Additionally, he participated in a local event in Jagatpura.
During a conversation with reporters, Vaishnaw mentioned that he had discussions with senior officials regarding the railway development initiatives. He proposed renaming the Gandhinagar and Khatipura railway stations in Jaipur for better clarity.
He suggested that Gandhinagar station be renamed to Jaipur Gandhinagar station to eliminate confusion, making it clear that it is not the Gandhinagar station from Gujarat. He urged officials to gather suggestions from local representatives and citizens regarding the name changes.
Visit to Gandhinagar Station and Skill Development Initiatives
The central minister visited Gandhinagar railway station to review the ongoing development works, accompanied by senior railway officials. Vaishnaw also attended an award distribution ceremony at the Skill Development Center of Laghu Udyog Bharati. He emphasized the need for new platforms in Rajasthan for 'incubation', 'mentorship', and 'funding', similar to the renowned Y Combinator based in Silicon Valley, USA.
He suggested that the Rajasthan government collaborate with the central government and Laghu Udyog Bharati to establish such a platform. Vaishnaw announced that the central government would soon launch a specialized electronics manufacturing training program at the skill development center.
He stated that this initiative aims to equip 5,000 youth with skills in the electronics sector, providing them with the necessary training for better placement opportunities. Vaishnaw also paid a courtesy visit to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.
According to reports, discussions were held regarding various railway projects and development works in Rajasthan, including the master plan for Bharatpur railway station as a logistics hub and rail connectivity from Delhi to Jaisalmer, Udaipur to Jodhpur, Banswara to Delhi, and Dungarpur to Mumbai.
