
Roast pork can be a tricky piece of meat to perfect and if you're struggling to get it spot on, a recipe developer has come to the rescue with a simple switch that will change your cooking game. TikToker Amy Sheppard recently shared her recipe for perfect roast pork with "super crispy" skin, using one appliance everyone loves.
Amy vented her frustration over the lack of crispy crackling every time she cooked roast pork in the oven. She explained that getting the right amount of crunch to succulent meat was just not happening. However, she's now swapped the conventional oven method for another appliance.
Instead, she now uses her much-loved air fryer, saying that once you try cooking pork this way, "you'll never go back".
Amy said in her video: "I had pretty much given up on cooking roast pork in the oven - I've never been able to get that super crispy crackling and if I even got close to it, then the meat was always a bit dry.
"If you've given up on roast pork too - you are going to LOVE this! The airfryer method is so easy and you get perfect crispy crackling and juicy meat every, single time - I promise, you'll never EVER go back to the oven."
What's even better about Amy's recipe is that you only need three ingredients to achieve moist meat and a wonderfully crispy crackling. Alongside the pork shoulder, you'll only need salt and oil.
Amy's video has already been viewed over 133,800 times, receiving 3,680 likes and 53 comments. Air fryer fans rushed to the comments to share their praise.

So if you want to try rustling up your next roast dinner centrepiece in your air fryer, this is what you need to do.
Ingredients
- 2kg pork shoulder
- Sea salt
- Sunflower oil
Method
Take the pork out of the fridge around 30 minutes before cooking. Score the skin with lines, roughly 1-2 cm apart. Make sure you don't cut through to the flesh.
Pat the skin dry with kitchen roll. Rub the skin and rest of the joint with oil.
Sprinkle the skin generously with sea salt and rub it into all the slits. Place the joint in a pre-heated airfryer for 20 minutes at 200C.
After 20 minutes, turn down the heat to 170C and air fryer for one hour and 40 minutes (or 25 minutes per 500g) or until the pork is cooked through as it may vary a little between air fryers.
If the outside is getting a bit too much colour, you can cover it in foil for the final 30 minutes or so.
