Whenever the topic of conversation changes to the worlds costliest houses the first thing that comes to most peoples minds is industrialist Mukesh Ambanis Antilia. Priced at over Rs 15000 crore this home is the most costly in Mumbai and in fact the most costly residence in India. However in this article we will talk about a house that is far more valuable than Antilia. Situated in London the British royal family lives in this house. Buckingham Palace is the British monarchys official residence. This palace does not have 100 200 or 400 rooms; it has a total of 775 rooms 78 bathrooms and 1500 doors. Of the 775 rooms 52 are for the royal family 188 for guests and 92 for offices. It is a common misconception that this palace is owned by the British royal family which is an incorrect assumption. You may find it astonishing that Buckingham Palace does not belong to the royal family. The British government is the legal owner of the palace which is an official title reserved for the government of the United Kingdom. Buckingham Palace encompasses 775 rooms and includes 52 royal bedrooms. The building is 108 meters in length and 120 meters in width with a total area of 77000 square meters. There are 1514 doors and 760 windows houses over 350 clocks scattered throughout the palace. An ATM even exists in the basement of the Palace functioning as the royal family’s private ATM. Three hundred years ago the Duke of Buckingham constructed Buckingham Palace as a residence. In 1837 Queen Victoria was the first monarch to make the palace her official home. Following a delay in wiring the palace for electricity the palace was electrified in 1883. Today approximately eight hundred staffs are employed by Buckingham Palace. The palace contains a private chapel a post office a hospital and a cinema hall. Buckingham Palace has its own 40-acre park a helipad for helicopters and even a private lake. According to several media reports including Forbes Buckingham Palace is its most valuable asset worth $4.9 billion about Rs 40 lakh crore but it is not for sale or rent. It is valued at nearly twice the price of the world’s second-most expensive private residence Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia(approximately $2 billion).
