Physics for the year 2025 Nobel Priests Has been announced A historic announcement released from Stockholm has given the Nobel Prize of 2025 to John Clarke, Mitchell H. Devore and John M. Martinis in the field of physics. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said on Tuesday that the three scientists are being awarded the honor for “Macroscopic quantum mechanical tunnel and electrical circuit discovery of energy quantization”.
Their discovery broke the traditional boundaries of Quantum Physics. Till now it was believed that the quantum effects are seen only at the micro or atomic level, but these scientists have proved that these effects could also be seen in large -scale circuits. This discovery later became the foundation of techniques like Quantum Computer, Quantum Sensor and Quantum Cryptography.
Nobel Committee Chairman Ole Ericsson said, “It is great that a hundred years old quantum mechanics are still surprised by new discoveries. It is also the backbone of modern digital technology.”
New discoveries open the doors of new handle
He said that the way transistors were possible due to quantum principles in computer microchips, similarly the discovery of this year’s Nobel winners is helping to shape the quantum technology of the next generation. Research by John Clarke, Mitchell Devorat and John Martinis showed that quantum tunnel – that is, jumping from one stage to another without crossing any obstruction – can be seen not only at the nuclear level, but also in a large -scale electronic circuit. This discovery opened the doors of new possibilities for both physics and computer science.
New revolution in the direction of quantum computers
The discoveries of the three scientists set the direction of development of future quantum computers. While traditional computers work on ‘bits’, quantum computer uses computer ‘cubits’, which can live together in both 0 and 1 situations. This increases the capacity of data processing exponentially, which can bring revolutionary changes in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Medical Research.
Prize and tradition
Under the Nobel Prize, the three winners will be given an amount of 11 million Swedish Croner (about ₹ 1.03 crore). The honor will be traditionally offered at a ceremony held at Stockholm on 10 December 2025 – this is the same date when Nobel founder Alfred Nobel passed away.
The Nobel series started on Monday this week, when Nobel Mary E. BRCO, Fred Ramsdale and Shimon Sakaguchi of Physiology or Medicine were given. In the coming days, Nobel winners of chemicals, literature, peace and economics will be announced.
Last year in 2024, Nobel John J. of Physics. Hopfield and Geoffree Hinton were given, who discovered basic principles for artificial neural networks and machine learning. This year’s award further enhances that tradition – proving that the boundaries of science are not limited to laboratories only, but they are also changing our daily technical world.
