We’ve all seen Timothée Chalamet sporting his curly flock of hair, no matter how serious or comedic a role may be. It’s been a constant for him to adorn that style, so much so that it became a defining feature for his lookalike content. So, when he revealed a buzz cut during an Instagram Live, one couldn’t help but wonder if fans would finally stop casting him in unannounced adaptations in their minds.
Focusing on Denis Villeneuve’s Dune series, Chalamet’s hair has been as cinematic as the movie itself. Sand flows through his hair like pixie dust, so chopping it off feels like a bold and daring move.

Fans may not be used to seeing Timothée Chalamet without his locks, but they will have to. As the Dune franchise progresses, it becomes increasingly obvious that Paul Atreidis is no hero. Frank Herbert never intended to make him a hero either, or while hair has little to do with how fans perceived his character, chopping it off offers a new perspective.
It acts as a change of pace, as if the Timothée Chalamet we’re seeing now isn’t the same one who was singing “Yeet Skrt” with Pete Davidson on SNL. Some fans are even going so far as to say that he’s abandoned hisWilly Wonka era to embrace a new Walter White-esque persona.
Thisnew emo look is a stark contrast to what was considered a lively and welcoming look. While it could be argued as to which Paul Atreidis looks better – the one with hair and the one without – nothing can be said for sure until an official image of him in costume gets released.
The End of Unnecessary Fan Casting of Timothée ChalametIt has been a common practice for fans to cast Timothée Chalamet, Tom Holland and Zendaya in anything and everything. If they want a movie or series adaptation of something, then it is likely that fans will recommend these three actors for the role.

Whilst all three of them have versatility in their individual careers, these fan-casts almost seem inescapable. Fan-made posters of Naruto, Chainsaw Man, Harry Osborn, Dick Grayson, and so many other live-action movies and characters exist on the internet. Whether through the help of AI or otherwise, it is impossible not to have seen at least one.
The actor's new buzz cut could contribute to the end of that practice, or it could only open more possibilities. Only time will tell whether this new haircut will be the boon or bane of Timothée Chalamet’s fan reception.
