
New Delhi. Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued summons to actor Shahrukh Khan, his wife Gauri Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment and OTT platform Netflix in a defamation case. This summons has been issued on a petition filed by former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede. The court has given all the parties seven days to file their replies. The next hearing of the case has been scheduled for October 30.
Sameer Wankhede has alleged in his petition that the web series ‘The Ba**ds Of Bollywood’ released on September 18 has hurt his reputation. The show is produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment and was streamed on Netflix.

Wankhede says that in this series a character tries to portray him who is playing the role of an NCB officer and the scene in which he is shown is going to defame him.
Sameer Wankhede asked for compensation of Rs 2 crore
The former NCB officer has requested the court to declare the content of the show defamatory and for this he has sought damages of Rs 2 crore. Wankhede has claimed that after the show aired, he faced many abusive reactions on social media and his public image suffered serious damage. According to him, this show is not only false but also raises questions on his professional integrity.
‘Nobody’s image can be messed with’
In the defamation petition, he said that a person’s image cannot be tampered with under the guise of any creative or filmy imagination. Wankhede also said that even though his name or identity may not have been used directly in the show, it is clear to the audience that the character is inspired by him.
During the preliminary hearing, Delhi High Court issued notice to all the defendants and directed them to reply within seven days. The arguments of all the parties will be heard in the court on the next date on October 30.
