Kanpur. A loud explosion caused panic near Markas Wali Mosque on Meston Road at 7.30 pm on Wednesday evening. After two scooters collided with each other, there was a huge explosion and the walls of many nearby buildings also cracked. Eight people were seriously injured in the accident, while many others sustained minor injuries. The seriously injured have been admitted to Ursala Hospital. Bomb squad and intelligence team along with Eastern Zone police have reached the spot. Initially people tried to mislead the police officers, but investigation revealed that firecrackers were stored illegally on a large scale in Muslim localities, which were secretly sold to the people. The explosion in these firecrackers was caused by the spark caused by the collision of vehicles. Police Commissioner Raghuveer Lal has ordered to investigate all the suspicious houses in Mishri Bazaar. While talking to the media, he said that people first tried to divert us but now concrete evidence has been obtained. It is noteworthy that, despite all the restrictions and prohibitions, illegal firecrackers are traded in the Mishri market of Meston Road.

There was chaos in the area as soon as the explosion occurred.
According to eyewitnesses, a massive explosion occurred at Mishri Bazaar near Markas Mosque at 7.30 pm, soon after the bike and scooter collided head-on. The explosion was so strong that both the scooters were blown to pieces, while huge cracks appeared in the walls of nearby shops and buildings. As soon as the explosion took place, a stampede broke out in the market and many people were crushed and injured. Preliminary investigation has revealed that illegal firecrackers were kept in the trunk of the scooter, which burst due to spark after the collision, causing a massive explosion when the fire reached the petrol tank. Both the scooter riders along with three pedestrians were seriously injured in the explosion, who have been admitted to Ursala Hospital for treatment. There are reports of many people getting minor injuries due to the explosion and stampede.

False ceiling of one shop fell, 6 walls cracked
Abdul Hameed, who lives in Mishri Bazaar, has a toy shop. Two scooters were parked on the road outside his shop. Meanwhile, there was a loud explosion in both the scooties simultaneously. People standing at shops and passing by got burnt due to the cloud of fire emanating from the scooter. At the same time, both the scooters were destroyed by the explosion. Right in front of Abdul Hameed’s shop is Mohammad Aamir’s shop, which sells make-up items. Son Sayyab and employee Mohsin were working in Aamir’s shop. After the explosion, Sayyab saw that heavy blood was coming out of Mohsin’s mouth. About 5 to 6 people are injured and suffering on the road. Cafe operator Shahbaz Akhtar said that the explosion was so strong that the false ceiling of Aamir’s shop collapsed, while Kashif, Abdul and Mujahid also have sports and toy shops in the neighborhood. The walls of his shops also cracked.

Three people suffered more than 50 percent burns
On getting information about the incident, Police Commissioner Raghuveer Lal also reached the spot. After talking to the shopkeepers there, he reached Ursala Hospital. He said that eight people were brought to the hospital. Among the injured, two had minor injuries, so they were sent home after first aid.
The injured include Sahana (70), Abdal (60), Riyadain (70), Ashwani Kumar (50). These people have suffered more than 50 percent burns. All of them have been referred to KGMU in Lucknow. Whereas Murshaline and Rahees are less injured. He is being treated in Ursala.
Joint Police Commissioner Ashutosh Kumar said that there was an explosion in two scooties. It will be investigated whether the battery burst or whether there was some explosive substance.
