A massive fire at the Lakshmi Ganapati Bana Sancha Preparation Centre, a licensed firecracker factory in Rayavaram Mandal, Konaseema district, Andhra Pradesh, has claimed at least six lives. Two others sustained injuries and were rushed to Anaparthi Government Hospital for treatment.

Preliminary reports suggest the blaze erupted during the preparation of gunpowder, with a suspected short circuit under investigation. In addition to the fatalities, eight others were seriously injured.

TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh said, “The explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Rayavaram, Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, which claimed the lives of six individuals, has caused profound shock. It is heartbreaking that workers were trapped in the flames and burned alive. The government has already initiated an inquiry into the incident. Instructions have been given to officials to make all necessary arrangements to provide better medical care to the injured. The government will stand by the affected families in every possible way. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of those injured. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased."

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and verifying casualty reports.
