Banned Items in Delhi Metro: The Delhi Metro is considered the safest of all modes of transport. Once inside a metro station, a person is not only under the security cover of CISF personnel but also under the surveillance of DMRC CCTV cameras. This makes traveling on the Delhi Metro, day or night, quite safe for anyone. However, this security system often causes inconvenience, and some people consider the strictness regarding certain things excessive. While people are making various comments on this matter, the DMRC takes no chances with the safety of passengers. According to information provided by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) regarding security arrangements on the metro, CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) is responsible for maintaining strong security and enforcing rules within the metro premises.

CISF personnel thoroughly check not only passengers traveling on trains but also their luggage.

When passengers bring prohibited items onto the Delhi Metro, the confiscate these items during frisking and checking, and passengers are not allowed to travel with them. There have been numerous instances where people have had to abandon valuables due to security regulations.

These items are prohibited on the Delhi Metro:
. Sharp and pointed weapons such as knives, scissors, swords, blades, pistols, etc.
. Tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, testers, etc.
. Explosives such as hand grenades, gunpowder, firecrackers, plastic explosives, or other explosive materials
. Flammable materials such as cooking gas, petroleum, paint, wet batteries, or other materials

. Toys resembling weapons, etc.

Under DMRC rules, these items cannot be carried on the metro. During festivals, security on the metro is further tightened. Metro officials say this is to prevent any untoward incidents during the festival season. Sometimes, some items are fake, but they can cause panic among other passengers.
