Asteroid Passing Earth:Space rocks have once again started passing close to the Earth. According to NASA, today an asteroid which is as big as an airplane is going to pass near the Earth. Its name is 2025 TF and its estimated size is said to be around 87 feet. However, scientists say that there is no need to panic because it will pass through a distance of 1,340,000 kilometers from the Earth, which is considered completely safe.
Many asteroids are coming near the earth
According to the report of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), today not only one, but three other asteroids are also going to pass near the Earth. Of these, two asteroids are the size of a house while one asteroid is as big as an airplane. The names of these asteroids are – 2025 SJ29, 2025 TF1, and 2020 QU5, whose sizes are 55 feet, 65 feet, and 81 feet respectively.
Scientists are continuously monitoring
The largest asteroid, 2025-TN2, is prominent among them and scientists are constantly monitoring it. Although none of these objects pose a direct threat to Earth, NASA classifies them as ‘Near Earth Objects’ (NEOs) so that their paths and impact possibilities can be analyzed.
Last week a small asteroid came very close
Earlier, on September 30, an extremely small asteroid passed so close to Earth that it was below the orbit of many satellites. According to the European Space Agency (ESA), this asteroid was approximately the size of a giraffe and it passed over Antarctica at an altitude of 428 kilometers. The interesting thing is that scientists came to know about this rock only a few hours ago.
Scientists trust, there is no danger at present
Organizations such as NASA and ESA continuously monitor thousands of near-Earth objects (NEOs). Scientists say that Earth is not in danger from any big asteroid for the next 100 years. However, an asteroid is considered ‘potentially hazardous’ if it is at least 460 feet across and comes at a distance of 7.48 million kilometers or less from Earth. According to this criterion, 2025 TF and other asteroids passing today do not fall into the danger category.
