
Preparations for Bihar Assembly elections 2025 have intensified. Even before the seat sharing, the major parties of NDA and Grand Alliance have decided on many potential candidates, who have started campaigning in their areas.
Patna: The atmosphere of Bihar Assembly elections 2025 has now become completely heated. Although the seat sharing formula in the NDA and the Grand Alliance has not been finalized yet, many potential candidates from both the camps have started election campaigning and organizational preparations in their areas. Indoor meetings are going on between the two alliances, but the ground reality is that the names on many seats are considered almost certain.
BJP again gambled on its old favorites
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again expressed confidence in its old faces. The names of Nitish Mishra from Jhanjharpur, Neeraj Kumar Singh from Chhatapur, Hari Bhushan Thakur from Visfi, Renu Devi from Bettiah, Motilal Prasad from Riga, Jivesh Kumar from Jale, Vijay Kumar Khemka from Purnia, Ram Singh from Bagaha, Vinay Bihari from Lauria, Narayan Prasad from Nautan, and Nitin Naveen from Patna's high-profile seat Bankipur are almost certain. According to party sources, BJP's strategy is based on strong organization plus credible face, so that local discontent can be avoided.
JDU tried to maintain caste balance
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's party JDU has almost prepared the list of its candidates keeping in mind the caste equation and old support base. The names of Shravan Kumar from Nalanda, Kaushal Kishore from Rajgir, Vijendra Prasad Yadav from Supaul, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary from Sarairanjan, Dhirendra Pratap Singh from Balmiki Nagar, Anant Singh from Mokama, Sudhanshu Shekhar from Harlakhi, Madan Sahni from Bahadurpur, Lacey Singh from Dhamdaha, Jama Khan from Chainpur, Jayant Raj from Amarpur, and Maheshwar Hazari from Kalyanpur have been approved. Experts believe that JDU is following the strategy of having a strong representative in every caste and every district so that Nitish's balance remains intact.
RJD has already fielded veterans
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the largest party of the Grand Alliance, has already given the green signal to several candidates. Tejashwi Yadav himself from Raghopur, Mohammad Nehaluddin from Rafiganj, Kiran Devi from Sanket, Rahul Tiwari from Shahpur, Shambhu Nath Yadav from Brahmapur, Anita Devi from Nokha, Kumar Sarvjeet from Bodhgaya, Ajay Yadav from Atri, Bhudev Chaudhary from Dhoraiya, Bhai Virendra from Maner, Lalit Yadav from Darbhanga Rural, Ramanand Yadav from Fatuha, and Bhola Yadav from Bahadurpur have entered the election battle.
'Return of old guard' for Congress
Congress has also made preparations to field only its trusted faces. Vijendra Chaudhary from Muzaffarpur, Vijay Kumar Dubey from Maharajganj, Chhatrapati Yadav from Khagaria, Sanjay alias Munna Tiwari from Buxar, Shakeel Ahmed Khan from Kadwa, Ajit Sharma from Bhagalpur, and Rajesh Ram from Kutumba are almost certain to get tickets. This time the focus of the party is on “clean image and grassroots connection”.
Preparations of left parties also completed
CPI(ML) has already declared the names of several candidates. Amarnath Yadav from Daraunda, Satyadev Ram from Darauli, Amarjeet Kushwaha from Jiradei, Mehboob Alam from Balrampur, Ajit Kushwaha from Dumraon, and Mahanand Singh from Arwal will be in the fray. Apart from these, names of Gopal Ravidas from Phulwari and Virendra Prasad Gupta from Sikta are also considered final.
Political war broke out even before seat distribution
Although the official seat sharing is yet to be announced, but if insiders of both the alliances are to be believed, the names of the candidates for the seats in the first phase have almost been decided. Now everyone's focus is on publicity and booth level preparations.
