Whose sister is Chhathi Maiya?
In Hinduism, Chhathi Maiya is considered the sister of Lord Surya. She is revered as the goddess of longevity, health, success, and protection for children. Chhathi Maiya is also known as Goddess Shashthi.
There is a mythological story behind her name, which states that when Lord Brahma created the universe, he created Goddess Shashthi to protect and multiply offspring. Since then, Goddess Shashthi has been worshipped as the protector of every newborn child.
They are worshipped on the sixth day after the birth of a newborn child.

Four days of Chhath Puja

2. Kharna (26 October)
On the second day, the fasting woman observes a waterless fast for the entire day and in the evening, prepares jaggery-rice kheer and roti prasad and offers it to Chhathi Maiya.
3. Sandhya Arghya (October 27)
On the third day, the fasting woman offers arghya to the setting sun and prays to Suryadev and Chhathi Maiya for the happiness and prosperity of the family.
4. Usha Arghya (October 28):
On the final day, devotees offer arghya to the rising sun. This marks the formal end of the fast, and devotees greet each other.
