On October 25, Shreyas Iyer fell badly while taking a catch in the third ODI match against Australia. Initially it was thought to be a minor injury to the ribs, but later scans revealed that he had suffered a serious injury to his spleen and was bleeding internally. The matter was so serious that he had to be immediately admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital in Sydney. Now, a few days after that terrible accident, Shreyas Iyer has given information about his health by posting a story on his Instagram. In his first statement, he wrote: “I am currently in the process of recovery and getting better with each passing day. I am deeply grateful to see the love and support I have received – it really means a lot to me. Thank you all for remembering me in your prayers.” Iyer’s injury is being closely monitored. However, with timely treatment, the situation was brought under control immediately. Another scan conducted on October 28 has shown a lot of improvement in his condition and he is on the path of recovery. How much time will it take to return? Although Iyer is feeling better, but due to this serious injury, he may stay away from the cricket field for about two months. This means that he will definitely not be able to play in the home ODI series against South Africa. It will take time for his complete recovery and return to the field. At present, the entire cricket world is wishing for his recovery and return to the field as soon as possible.
