Bank Holiday Today: Banks Closed in Most States on Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima

New Delhi, November 5 (Read): Today, Wednesday, November 5, 2025several states across India are observing a bank holiday on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartik Purnimaand Raas Purnima. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has included this date in its November 2025 bank holiday listmeaning that most public and private sector banks will remain closed in many parts of the country.

Where Banks Will Remain Closed Today

As per the RBI’s notification, banks will remain closed today in Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Srinagar, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, West Bengal, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh.
In short, banks are closed in most Indian states todayso customers are advised to use online or mobile banking services for urgent financial transactions.

Digital Banking Services Remain Active

Even though physical branches are closed, digital banking, ATMs, UPI, and online transfers (NEFT/RTGS) are functioning as usual. Customers can continue to make payments, transfer funds, or request cheque books and demand drafts online.
