Tribute to Lala Lajpat Rai
Ballabhgarh, Fridabad. Tributes were paid to ‘Punjab Kesari’ Lala Lajpat Rai on his death anniversary at Aggarwal College on Monday. Principal of the college, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, while paying tribute to him, remembered his sacrifice and said that he led many important movements to get independence for India.

Dr. Gupta said that today’s young generation should take inspiration from his contribution. After this, teachers and students of the college offered flowers on the photo of Lala Lajpat Rai. Head of the History Department, Dr. Jai Pal Singh said that Lala Lajpat Rai founded the Garam Dal and gave a new direction to the freedom struggle.
He died on 17 November 1928 in Lahore, when he was injured in police lathicharge during a demonstration against the Simon Commission. Dr. Ritu, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science, also threw light on his life and his contribution to the freedom struggle. On this occasion, the students and staff of the college paid tribute to Lala Lajpat Rai.
