Wrexham have solidified their position in the Championship as they approach the end of their opening third of the season. The Red Dragons, owned by Hollywood A-listers Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, entered the mid-November international break on a high, having recently risen to 13th place in the table following an unbeaten run of five matches.
Phil Parkinson's squad are just four points shy of the play-off positions after 15 games, with five victories, six draws and four losses under their belt. Most of the defeats occurred early in the season, sparking claims that the manager was on shaky ground.
However, Wrexham director Shaun Harvey quickly quashed such speculation, and the team has since been on an upward trajectory. Their standout performance came on Halloween when they triumphed over Frank Lampard's league-leaders Coventry with a 3-2 victory at the Racecourse Ground.
Much of Wrexham's commendable standing can be attributed to their ambitious summer signings, having splashed out a staggering £33million on 13 new players following their third consecutive promotion from League One. Chief executive Michael Williamson has confirmed the club's intention to bolster the squad further in the January transfer window, as they set their sights on an audacious push for the Premier League.
Whether Wrexham's ambitious target is achievable remains to be seen, but the club's co-owners have already silenced many sceptics. As they aim for an improbable fourth promotion in a row, Mirror Football examines what a perfect winter transfer window might look like for the Red Dragons.

Ryan Reynolds addresses £12m headacheWrexham bagged a bargain in the summer when they snapped up Kieffer Moore from Sheffield United for £2m. The Wales international striker has made an immediate impact since his August arrival, netting nine times in 17 matches across all competitions.
Parkinson's only concern is how to cope if the 33-year-old gets injured, given his vital role in Wrexham's game plan. Despite having attacking options that cost more than £12m in their ranks, the reality is they lack a natural replacement for Moore's starting position, especially after Ollie Palmer's summer exit.
If Wrexham choose to dip into the January transfer market for another forward, Sparta Rotterdam's Tobias Lauritsen could be a solid choice to back up Moore's physical prowess. The six-foot-four Norwegian has consistently scored in double digits in the Eredivisie over the past three seasons, with his contract set to expire in the summer. He was linked with Hull City and Millwall in the last window.
Ex-Premier League star departsWrexham's recent success has had the unexpected side effect of forcing them to part ways with key players who helped them climb through the ranks to make room for fresh talent. Striking duo Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer, who netted over 150 goals between them during Wrexham's rise from the National League to the Championship, were both allowed to leave in the summer after slipping down the pecking order.
Mullin was loaned out to Wigan Athletic, while Palmer made a permanent move to Swindon Town. Ex-Premier League ace James McClean could be next on the departure list, having seen his game time reduced in the Championship this season.
The left wing-back recently confessed that he's not enjoying his stint at Wrexham as much as he used to and is considering a potential career change. The 36-year-old may not be ready to retire just yet, but a return to his boyhood club Derry City isn't out of the question.
Defensive reinforcements brought inAfter a rocky start to the campaign, Wrexham have managed to regain the defensive solidity that made them such a tough nut to crack in League One. Central to this turnaround has been the stellar performances of centre-half Dom Hyam, who signed from Blackburn Rovers on September 1.
Academy graduate Max Cleworth has admirably adapted to Wrexham's latest promotion, with Dan Scarr also impressing as part of the defensive trio. However, due to Lewis Brunt's thigh injury, Conor Coady's unexpectedly subpar performances, and Callum Doyle's inconsistent start at Wrexham, they could use some additional support in defence.
Bristol City's Zak Vyner was on Wrexham's radar late in the summer transfer window and could be a potential target again. The Robins held their ground and turned down several offers, but Vyner has yet to agree to a new contract.
His current agreement is due to run out at the end of this season, which means City might be persuaded to sell the 28-year-old.
