The body of a girl student found buried in the ground in Tharvai area of ​​Prayagraj has shaken the entire city. The young man whom the student trusted turned out to be responsible for her death. The accused soldier told the police that after the pressure of marriage increased, he called the student on the pretext of meeting, and then committed the murder.

Relationship started from Instagram friendship, situation deteriorated due to talk of marriage

According to DCP Ganganagar Kuldeep Singh Gunawat and DCP Nagar Manish Shandilya, the 11th class student, resident of Cantt police station area, left home for school on November 10, but did not return. On November 15, his body was found buried in the ground in Lakharavaan village of Tharvai. A bag containing copy-book, mirror and vermilion box was also recovered nearby. The name “Deepak” and mobile number were found written on a copy, on the basis of which the investigation proceeded. Instagram chatting and CCTV footage made it clear that she was last with accused Deepak alias Harshvardhan, who is posted as a soldier in Patiala.

When there was pressure for marriage, a murder conspiracy was hatched.

During interrogation, the accused confessed that his marriage was fixed on November 30. The student came to know about this, after which she started pressurizing him to break her marriage and marry him. The accused told that despite continuous persuasion, she was not ready. Then he planned to murder her even before she came on leave. On November 10, the accused called him to meet him at Balsan intersection. Both of them stayed together the whole day and then in the evening he took her to a deserted area near Lakharavaan village.

Murder with knife, feet tied with scarf and body buried in soil

According to the police, the accused had already brought a knife in his bag. After the argument escalated, he killed the student with a knife. After this, both his legs were tied with his scarf and buried in the ground with the help of a shovel kept at a nearby temple. He threw the student's bag two kilometers away from the spot. After the murder he went straight home and continued behaving like a normal person.

The accused was present at the spot even on the day the body was found

The shocking thing is that the day the student's body was recovered, the accused was also present there. According to the police, he joined the crowd at the spot and kept watching the situation. Investigation also revealed that the accused even knew her Instagram account and password. To erase his chats and digital footprint, he had formatted his mobile after watching YouTube videos.

Case broken due to CCTV and social media chat

The message “Meet at Balsan intersection” in Instagram chat proved to be an important clue for the police. The girl student was clearly visible on the bike of the accused in the cameras installed at the intersection. On this basis, the location of the mobile and bike was scrutinized and the whereabouts of the accused was ascertained. On Monday, on the information of the informer, the accused was arrested near the old bridge, Mansaita river in Tharvai police station area. The knife, shovel and bike used in the murder have been recovered by the police.

8 months old social media friendship turns deadly

Investigation revealed that the first meeting of the accused and the student took place in June. After this, their conversation increased on Instagram, Facebook and video calling. As soon as she got information about the marriage of the accused, the girl started pressurizing him to marry her. The accused had come on leave since November 8 to prepare for his marriage, and during this time he committed the crime.

Police inquiry continues, many shocking information is expected to be found.

DCP said that continuous interrogation of the accused is going on. His phone data, location and chatting are being investigated. Police say that this crime was planned in advance and even after committing it, the accused continued to pretend to be normal.
