Maruti Suzuki will launch its first fully electric SUV, the Maruti e Vitara, in India on December 2, 2025. It was first unveiled at the Auto Expo 2025 in India. This car is not only developed for the Indian market but is being exported to more than 100 countries. Even before its launch, this car has become a global product. The market will prevail
Maruti E Vitara is creating a new identity in India as a Make-in-India electric car. On August 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated local hybrid battery electrode production at the Hansalpur plant in Gujarat. The first export batch of E Vitara was also launched on the same day.
Exports officially started from Pipavav port on September 1. In August alone, more than 2900 units were shipped to 12 European countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Norway and Sweden. With plans to offer the E Vitara in over 100 countries, it will become Maruti Suzuki’s first truly global electric SUV.

Battery options and performance
The Maruti E Vitara will be available with two battery packs of 49kWh and 61kWh. The 49 kW FWD version will generate 144 hp of power and 189 Nm of torque, while the 61 kW FWD version will generate 174 hp of power and 189 Nm of torque. The 61 kW top-of-the-line variant is expected to offer a range of over 500 km, making it one of the longest-range EVs in its segment.
What could be the expected price?
Maruti e Vitara is expected to be priced between 20 lakh and 25 lakh in India. The car will compete with Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, Vinfast VF6, and Hyundai Creta Electric.
