Delhi: Indian veteran batsman Virat Kohli once again continued his brilliant streak in Raipur. His innings made India’s start strong and the team moved towards a big score.

Virat Kohli made records

This is Kohli’s 76th ODI fifty. His recent form shows the amazing consistency of his career. So far, he has scored 50 plus scores in three or more consecutive innings 13 times. This is a big record. Rohit Sharma has done this 11 times and Sachin Tendulkar has done this 10 times.

Raipur’s pitch was not as easy as Ranchi, but Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad played intelligently and made a century partnership. Both the batsmen together put the team in a strong position. Gaikwad also completed his second ODI fifty.

Completed 6,500 ODI runs on home soil

In this match, Kohli completed another special milestone. He has become only the second player to score 6,500 ODI runs on home soil. The first player to achieve this feat was Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli crossed this figure in 123 innings, while Tendulkar has 6,976 runs in his name at home.

Interestingly, apart from Kohli and Tendulkar, no other batsman has scored more than 5,500 ODI runs at home. After him comes Ricky Ponting who has 5,406 runs in his name.

Along with this, Virat also has the record of scoring most runs in a successful run chase at home. He has scored 2,710 runs and his average is more than 82. Sachin is behind him in this matter also.
