BPSC TRE 4: Big news is coming for lakhs of young people preparing to become teachers in Bihar. The government has given important indications regarding the Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE) 4 process conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). Education Minister Sunil Kumar has clarified that the TRE 4 notification will be issued by January 2026. In the first phase of this recruitment, more than 27,000 teachers will be appointed at the primary, middle school, and two levels. The government's objective is to strengthen the education system by addressing the shortage of teachers in schools.

Recruitment for over 27,000 posts
The Bihar Education Minister has informed that under TRE 4, a total of more than 27,000 teachers will be recruited at the primary, middle, and plus two levels. All districts have already been instructed to send information about the vacant posts in their respective areas. Currently, the roster clearance process is in its final stages. As soon as the roster is fully prepared, the recruitment process will be formally started.

When will the application process begin?
So far, the department has received details of teacher vacancies from about 15 districts, including Rohtas, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, West Champaran, Shivhar, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Banka, and Gaya. Information on vacancies from the remaining districts is awaited. Only after receiving vacancies from all districts and the roster is cleared will the notification for the school teacher recruitment examination be sent to the BPSC. After this, the commission will issue the notification, and the application process will begin. The government says that this recruitment will address the shortage of teachers in government schools and improve the quality of education.

More than 2.68 lakh teachers have been appointed in the last two years.
In the last two years, large-scale teacher recruitment has been carried out in Bihar. On the recommendation of the BPSC, a total of 2,68,548 teachers have been appointed in three phases. In the first phase, 1,02,871 teachers were recruited, while in the second phase, more than 69,500 teachers were appointed. Following this, a large number of candidates received appointments in the third phase as well.

Earlier, on September 21, the then Education Minister had stated in a press conference that information regarding the vacancies would be sent to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) by the end of September. At that time, the Education Department had indicated that the number of potential vacancies in TRE 4 was approximately 26,000, and it was also stated that this recruitment process could be completed by December 4. However, there was a delay, and now it is being said that the notification will be issued in 2026.  Following this, the TRE 5 recruitment process will also be initiated.
