UP Board Exam Centers: The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council (UP Board) has released the policy for determining examination centers for the 2026 High School and Intermediate examinations. Under this policy, only those schools will be designated as examination centers that have modern facilities to ensure the safety of students and the confidentiality of the examinations. The center allocation process began on November 10th and will be completed by December 30th. Let's find out how the centers will be allotted.
CCTV and Strong Room Mandatory
According to the new system, only schools equipped with CCTV cameras will be designated as examination centers. Additionally, a secure strong room will be mandatory in the school, where question papers will be kept in four double-locked boxes. Separate secure rooms for answer sheets will also be mandatory. Cameras must be installed at the school's entry gate, outside the classrooms, and in other key locations, and these cameras must be connected to the control rooms of the board and the administration.
Which schools will be given priority for becoming centers?
This time, schools that have online attendance systems for teachers and students will be given priority, and 10 points have been allocated for this. Schools with a larger number of students will also be given preference in becoming centers. Examination centers will be established within a radius of 12 kilometers.
Action will be taken for providing false information
The physical verification of the schools designated as centers will be conducted by district and tehsil-level committees. The school principal will have to upload complete details of the school's facilities, along with its geolocation, in the prescribed format on the portal. Subsequently, a tehsil-level committee headed by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) will verify this information. If any information is found to be incorrect during the verification, action will be taken against the school management.
Examination centers will be established in government, aided, and private schools in that order. Each center will have a minimum of 250 and a maximum of 2200 examinees. Schools that have been debarred in previous years will not be designated as centers. Examination centers will not be established in schools managed by the same person or their family. Efforts will be made to avoid designating girls' schools as centers for boys. The schedule for center allocation has also been released, which includes the complete timeline for verification, objections, and the release of the final list.
