Delhi Metro services will start from 3 am – Obnews

To conveniently reach the Republic Day Parade on **Duty Path** (earlier Rajpath), Delhi Metro services will commence from **3:00 am** on all lines on Monday, January 26, 2026. This special timing will help the passengers to reach the venue without any hassle. From 3:00 am to 6:00 am, trains will run at **15 minute intervals**; After that, the regular timetable will resume. Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director (Corporate Communications), DMRC, has confirmed this arrangement to help in faster travel and avoid inconvenience. Parking will remain fully operational across the entire metro station network.

Note: Due to security reasons, there will be temporary entry/exit restrictions at some stations (e.g., Central Secretariat Gate 3-4, Udyog Bhawan Gate 1, Red Fort Gate 3-4, Jama Masjid Gate 3-4, Delhi Gate, and ITO) from 3:00 am till the end of the parade.

Republic Day is celebrated to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India on January 26, 1950, its 77th edition in 2026 will be celebrated as a national holiday, featuring flag hoisting, cultural programs and parades across the country.

The duty path parade will include marching contingents of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Central Armed Police Forces, as well as State/UT/Ministry tableaux. One of the highlights is the **Phase Order of Battle** format for the first time, in which military units and assets will be displayed in an operational order (not static), including the introduction of **Bhairav ​​Light Commando Battalion**. Preparations include traffic advisories and rehearsals.

**Chief Guests** are President of the European Commission **Ursula von der Leyen** and President of the European Council **Antonio Costa**, highlighting the strong India-EU relations. He is visiting on a state visit from January 25-27, which will include the 16th India-EU Summit on January 27, where discussions on a free trade agreement are expected to be completed.
