Mangaluru: MDMA sale attempt foiled; two arrested in separate cases

Mangaluru: City police have arrested two persons in separate drug-related incidents and seized narcotic substances, officials said on Monday.

In the first case, Kankanady City police arrested a man identified as Mohammed Dawood for allegedly attempting to sell MDMA near Padil. Police seized 16.11 grams of MDMA worth around ₹80,000 from his possession.

According to police, Dawood had arrived on a scooter and was waiting for customers when he noticed the police team and tried to flee. He was chased and caught. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Kavoor police station.

In another incident, Bunder police arrested Mohammed Rishaj (21), a resident of Bunder, for consuming ganja at Kudroli. He was found behaving unsteadily, and a medical examination later confirmed drug consumption, police said.

Further investigation is under way in both cases.
