The Met Office has issued a high-level amber weather warning. Gusty winds will impact the Isles of Scilly, western Cornwall and southwest Wales before moving north up the Irish Sea.

Chandra, the fifth named storm of the 2025/26 season, is currently moving across the Atlantic towards the UK. Heavy rain and intense winds are forecasted to hit early Tuesday morning and continue throughout the day.

An Amber warning for rain has been issued for south Devon, much of Dorset, southern Somerset and southeast Cornwall where 30-50mm of rain could fall widely, with up to 60-80mm over higher ground of south Dartmoor.

Major travel disruptions are anticipated as roads and bridges may have to close due to the conditions. Rail, air, and ferry services are likely to face cancellations or significant delays throughout the warning period.
