Following three significant losses to India, New Zealand has made adjustments to its team roster. Fast bowler Kristian Clarke and opening batsman Tim Robinson have been released from the squad in advance of the fourth T20 International, scheduled for Wednesday in Visakhapatnam.
During the series opener in Nagpur, the 24-year-old Clarke debuted in T20Is, taking one wicket while conceding 40 runs across four overs. Robinson, meanwhile, managed only 21 runs off 15 deliveries in a disappointing performance during that same match, which resulted in a 48-run defeat for New Zealand. Both players were later swapped out for Tim Seifert and Matt Henry in the following games.
New Zealand has been reinforced by the arrival of all-rounder James Neesham and fast bowler Lockie Ferguson for the remainder of the series as the T20 World Cup approaches.

Announcement made by New Zealand on Monday:
“Kristian Clarke and Tim Robinson have been released from the BLACKCAPS T20 squad in India, with Jimmy Neesham, Lockie Ferguson, and Tim Seifert now in camp. Finn Allen will be the final squad member to join the side on Thursday in Trivandrum."
The BlackCaps also confirmed that opening batsman Finn Allen will link up with the team in Thiruvananthapuram this Thursday, in preparation for the fifth T20 International on Saturday.
New Zealand endured one of their most significant losses when defending a total during the second T20 International. India successfully chased a target of 209 runs in less than 16 overs, making it one of the fastest 200-plus chases in T20I history. In the preceding match in Guwahati, India first dominated New Zealand with the ball, then rapidly completed a 154-run chase in merely 10 overs, an accomplishment that stands as only the second instance in T20Is of a 150-plus chase being finished within 60 balls.
New Zealand’s updated squad:
Mitchell Santner (C), Devon Conway, Tim Seifert (WK), Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, Zakary Foulkes, Matt Henry, Ish Sodhi, Jacob Duffy, James Neesham, Kyle Jamieson, Michael Bracewell, Bevon Jacobs, Finn Allen (only for 5th T20I)
