Mumbai: The 61st match of the Indian Premier League is today Monday when Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Lucknow Super Giants. To stay in the race for the playoffs, LSG will need a big win in this match at any cost. LSG is currently sixth in the points table with 10 points from 11 matches and its net run rate is -0.469. To get a place in the playoffs, Lucknow will not only have to win the remaining three matches, but will also have to win by a big margin to improve their net run rate. The weakest link for Lucknow is team captain Rishabh Pant. Rishabh Pant has the lowest strike-rate (99.22) among any player who has played at least 100 balls this season. From which it can be estimated how bad form the captain is going through.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s star opener Travis Head has been found to be Covid-19 positive and due to this he will not be able to participate in the important match against Lucknow Super Giants. SRH head coach Daniel Vettori confirmed that he will not be able to travel with the team after Hadno’s report came positive.
It is noteworthy that, three teams have qualified for the playoffs. Which includes RCB, GT and Punjab Kings. Now there is competition between 3 teams for just one place. Only one team among Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals will be able to get the playoff ticket. On the other hand, last year’s runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad are already out of the playoff race and now this match will be an opportunity for them to save their reputation. Also, this will be the last chance for some players to prove themselves as SRH’s batsmen, which include many big names, have disappointed many this season.
