Khunti: Police has exposed the famous Pahada Raja Soma Munda murder case. Police investigation has revealed that this murder was not the result of any immediate dispute, but a long-running dispute to land business and a well-planned conspiracy. The entire murder was planned in advance, which was carried out with the help of the shooters and associates.

Khunti SP Manish Toppo said that 6 people including the shooter have been arrested in this murder case. Eight people have been arrested in the past also. The accused were active in the business of land buying and selling and had a dispute with Soma Munda regarding transactions to CNT/Garamjuara land. In this dispute, a conspiracy was hatched to remove Soma Munda from the way. Weapons, motorcycles and shooters were arranged as part of the conspiracy.

On January 7, 2026, when Soma Munda was going to Khunti with his wife on a motorcycle, criminals ambushed them and chased them. He was shot dead with a country-made pistol near Jamuvadag pond. The accused had absconded after the incident. Khunti SP said that it was a completely planned murder. In which a conspiracy was hatched for financial gain to land business. Continuous raids are being conducted to arrest other absconding accused.

After the incident, police formed SIT and started raids on the basis of technical evidence, mobile call details and secret information. During the investigation, the country-made pistol used in the murder, four live bullets, two motorcycles and other items have been recovered. The arrested accused include 44-year-old Daniel Sanga, 20-year-old Sumit Dal Saand, 20-year-old Marcus Sanga, 25-year-old Roshan Minj, 35-year-old Sandeep Khalkho and 32-year-old Santosh Dal Saand.
