The body of a 24-year-old man, who had been missing for four days, was discovered in a drain in Modinagar on Thursday, according to police reports.
Authorities identified the deceased as Rinku, a resident of Rori village.
Circumstances of Disappearance
Rinku had left his home a few days prior and did not return, prompting his father, Indrajeet, to file a missing person report.
After extensive searches by family members and local residents, Rinku's body was located in the drain.
Investigation and Autopsy
Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and sent the body for autopsy.
Assistant Police Commissioner Amit Saxena stated that the exact cause of death would be determined following the medical examination.
Allegations and Ongoing Investigation
Initial investigations suggest that Rinku had a history of substance abuse.
Family members have alleged that Rinku was murdered and his body disposed of in the drain.
The police confirmed that a thorough investigation into the case is underway.
