When will Varanasi release?

Varanasi is directed by S. S. Rajamouli, who has co-written the film with V. Vijayendra Prasad. The project is produced by Sri Durga Arts and Showing Business. The film stars Mahesh Babu in the lead role, alongside Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran. As per the latest update, the film is scheduled to hit theatres next year. As per reports by the Variety, the movie is slated to release on April 7, 2027 in the theatres. First glimpse

The first glimpse of Varanasi offers a grand visual canvas. The teaser opens with a sweeping drone shot of Varanasi, one of India’s oldest cities. The narrative then takes a dramatic turn with visuals of an asteroid striking the Earth. The sequence travels across continents, showing Antarctica, Africa, and several other locations, before returning to the spiritually charged Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi. The teaser ends by revealing Mahesh Babu as Rudhra. He is seen riding a bull and holding a trishul, instantly establishing the film’s mythological weight and larger-than-life tone.


According to IANS reports, an event related to Varanasi held in Hyderabad saw the RRR director turn emotional while speaking about faith and personal beliefs. Rajamouli reflected on moments of doubt, conversations with his father about divine presence, and his wife’s deep devotion to Lord Hanuman, sharing how these personal experiences shaped his emotional journey during the film’s making.
