Shashi Tharoor speaks on Sanju Samson’s fate, Ishan Kishan’s explosive innings steals the show

In this match, while on one hand Ishan Kishan won everyone’s hearts with his first T20 International century, on the other hand wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson once again proved to be a flop. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s reaction on his failure has come into discussion.

After the match, Shashi Tharoor said on Sanju Samson’s failed innings that it seems as if his luck is not on his side. Tharoor said that even though Sanju’s bat did not work, this match and the entire series was very special for India. Record scores were made, one of the biggest scores in T20 International was seen and Team India looked in great form before the T20 World Cup.

Tharoor praised Ishan Kishan and said that he is a very talented player and is in great form at the moment. He clearly said that form matters a lot in cricket and currently Ishaan’s form is at its peak, while Sanju is seen struggling with it. According to him, this match was a tremendous treat for the fans and India looks to be in a strong position for the World Cup.

Talking about the match, India, batting first, crossed the 250-run mark for the fourth time in T20 history. Hardik Pandya played an explosive inning of 42 runs in just 17 balls in the last overs. In reply, New Zealand was all out for 225 runs in 19.4 overs. For India, Arshdeep Singh bowled brilliantly and took 5 wickets for 51 runs. After proving costly in the initial overs, he made a tremendous comeback.

For New Zealand, Finn Allen played a brilliant inning of 80 runs in 38 balls, but he could not lead the team to victory. After the powerplay in India’s batting, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan took charge of the innings and completely turned the match towards India.
