Transfer deadline day is officially over, concluding the January window. Premier League clubs have splashed out hundreds of millions of pounds throughout the month. Manchester City emerged as the heaviest spenders, shelling out nearly £85million to secure Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace and Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth. Regarding transfer dramas, few have been as acrimonious as Jean-Philippe Mateta's bid to depart Palace.

He informed Oliver Glasner's squad of his desire to leave and witnessed potential moves to Nottingham Forest and AC Milan crumble at the final moment. Near the end of the window, Liverpool also dealt Chelsea a significant transfer setback. The Blues believed they would conclude the window with promising 19-year-old defender Jeremy Jacquet after reaching personal terms with him. However, after finding his club, Rennes, challenging to negotiate with, Arne Slot's team swooped in and completed a substantial deal for the defender, snatching him from under the west Londoners' noses.

Among the window's most expensive transfers was Jorgen Strand Larsen's enormous switch to Selhurst Park. The south London outfit smashed their club transfer record to acquire the Norwegian from Wolves.
