New Delhi Music composer and Bigg Boss 19 finalist Amaal Malik may be a big name in the industry today, but his journey to reach this position was not easy. After appearing in Bigg Boss 19, Amaal has been in the headlines. During the show, he shared many unheard stories to his personal life and now once again he has come into the news with his new statement.
Amaal Malik was born in a family with a famous musical background, but despite this, the industry did not accept him wholeheartedly in the initial years. Amaal says that his surname was not a boon for him but became a problem. He told that many times he was fired from work only because of his surname.
In a recent interview, Amaal told that whenever he got a job as an assistant in a project, as soon as people came to know that his surname was Malik, he started being looked at with suspicion. People used to think that by using his family name, he could sell music or take some kind of advantage. Due to this thinking, many times he was fired from the job without any mistake. This experience happened not only with Amaal but also with his brother Armaan Malik.
Recalling his days of struggle, Amaal said that between the age of fifteen to twenty-five, he worked hard and struggled continuously for about ten years. According to him, people usually look at this time from a different perspective, but for him, this period was one of learning and strengthening himself. He faced the biggest challenges of life at an early age, which prepared him mentally.
He also clarified that he never got his work handed to him on a platter. As a teenager, to survive in the industry, he worked as an assistant, did post-production work to earn money, and sometimes took on the responsibilities of a runner like carrying hard disks. These grassroots experiences taught him discipline and made him honest towards his work.
