IIT Madras Summer Fellowship: IIT Madras has launched the Summer Fellowship Program 2026. This is a two-month program for young talent from various fields such as Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Management. It will run from May 18 to July 17, 2026.  Students will have the opportunity to conduct academic research under the guidance of IIT Madras faculty.

The aim of this IIT Madras fellowship is to increase awareness and interest in research among students, providing them with a structured, goal-oriented internship experience. Selected candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 15,000 per month for the duration of the program. Hostel and mess facilities will also be provided, subject to availability. Applications for this fellowship can be submitted on the official website ssp.iitm.ac.in/summer-fellowship-registration. The last date to apply is March 3, 2026.

Who can apply?
Candidates eligible to apply for the Summer Fellowship Program 2026 are those currently in their third year of an undergraduate program (BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engg./3-year B.Sc. with Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics) or in the third or fourth year of an integrated/dual degree Master's program (M.E./M.Tech/M.Sc), or in the first year of an M.Sc./M.A./MBA program, and who possess a strong academic background with high ranks in university examinations. Applicants should highlight their academic performance and achievements, including papers presented at seminars, completed projects, participation in design competitions, scores/ranks in Mathematics Olympiads, and other awards/honors received.

Fellowship Amount

A stipend of Rs. 15,000 per month will be provided during the two-month Summer Fellowship Program.
