The company has gradually started changing the prices of the plans and this is the first tariff increase made by Airtel this year. According to Telecom Talk, Airtel has increased the price of Global International Roaming pack from Rs 4000 to Rs 4999. Talking about Airtel 4999 Plan Details, the global pack of Rs 4999 comes with a validity of 365 days and is considered a long term solution for international travelers.
As per the listed benefits, this pack includes 5GB data for use abroad along with 100 minutes of incoming and outgoing calls (India and local), 100 outgoing SMS and free incoming SMS while international roaming.
For domestic use in India, this pack offers 1.5 GB high-speed data per day, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. International Roaming pack is automatically activated upon recharge, while data, voice and SMS services get blocked after expiry as per applicable terms and conditions.
Airtel has not issued any official statement regarding the price change. However, this increase matches the industry’s larger trend of making money from telecom services, which includes investments in 5G, AI infrastructure and network upgrades to support the service.
